Salsa on1

Salsa- There are many different styles of Salsa Dancing, but in this class, we focus on the Salsa on1 or LA Style or "in line". It is a partner based dance which starts with the forward/backward basic, side to side, and cross body lead dance moves, with a distinctive range of turn patterns. Your feet move on 1,2,3 and 5,6,7 of every 8 beats. Learn to dance the most common form of social Salsa dancing!

In our foundational and beginner salsa courses, you will learn basic footwork, spins, crosses, lead/follower partner work, musicality, shines, and general Latin dance technique. You will also start to build the muscle memory and understanding that you need to take salsa dancing to the social dance floor!

As you progress to the intermediate level of salsa, you will be challenged with more complex spins, crosses, turn patterns, musicality, and shines. You will continue to build confidence for the social dance floor, and you will learn how to add your own personality to your salsa dancing. In certain seasons, we also offer studio performance opportunities to our intermediate dancers to encourage continued growth as salsa dancers and as team players in our salsa community.
